Uzbekistan is negotiating with the United States on easing visa requirements for its citizens

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan is in talks with the United States regarding a possible simplification of visa procedures for its citizens. Ambassador of Uzbekistan to the U.S., Furkat Sidikov, told Daryo that the process will be lengthy and depends on decisions made by the American side.

The diplomat emphasized that the specific conditions of the visa regime are determined by the internal policies of the U.S. government.

At the same time, he noted the historically strong relations between the two countries and the significant potential for further cooperation.

“Just last year, there were four dialogues between the Presidents of Uzbekistan and the United States: two phone calls and two meetings — in New York and Washington. These resulted in substantial agreements, demonstrating the U.S. government’s attention to the reforms underway in Uzbekistan, the country’s potential, and its readiness for collaboration,” Sidikov said.

The Ambassador also stated that starting at the end of January 2026, U.S. citizens will be able to enter Uzbekistan visa-free for up to 30 days, which is expected to boost tourist flows.

In addition, he noted that negotiations on visa-free regimes are underway not only with the United States but also with Brazil, Canada, and several other countries, reflecting Uzbekistan’s commitment to expanding international cooperation and simplifying visa procedures for foreign nationals.
