Uzbekistan introduces dues to Road Fund at purchase of Russian and Ukrainian cars

New rates of the excise tax were set with the President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov “On forecast of main macroeconomic figures and parameters of State Budget of Uzbekistan for 2014”.

According to the document, the excise tax for import of new cars, produced in Russia and Ukraine, (except vehicles for medical purpose) fell from 5% in 2013 to 2% in 2014. The new excise tax rate came into force from 1 January 2014.

The Government also set minimal rate of dues to the Republican Road Fund at the size of the price of new car, produced in Russia and Ukraine and purchased at special trade networks in Uzbekistan. The dues will come into force from 1 April 2014.
