This is stated in the decree of the President of Uzbekistan “On measures to radically improve the system of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan and strengthen its responsibility for implementing priority areas of foreign policy and foreign economic activity”.

The document lists priority directions for development of cooperation, including foreign economic, with foreign countries.

In the opinion of the Uzbek side, the strengthening of the institutional and legal foundations of bilateral relations, cooperation in the oil and gas, petrochemical, electronic and machine-building industries are promising spheres for cooperation with the US.

Uzbekistan plans to intensify the dialogue on science and technology, academic exchanges. Uzbekistan will continue work on concluding an agreement with the United States on promotion and mutual protection of investments and an agreement on the avoidance of double taxation

Uzbekistan intends to expand its interaction with the US on the issue of modernization and renewal of the national economy, training of personnel and development of human capital, including by attracting investments and consultations from the American side.

It is planned to continue military-technical cooperation, cooperation in the field of military education and training of personnel.
