Uzbekistan insurance companies collect premiums for 44.4bn soums

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Total volume of insurance premiums, collected by insurance companies of Uzbekistan, made up 44.4 billion soums in the first quarter of 2010. The growth rate made up 18% year-on-year.

The insurance companies paid payouts for 6 billion soums in the reporting period, which is up 22.4% year-on-year.

In the first three months of 2010, about 32 insurance companies worked in Uzbekistan, of which 30 worked in non-life insurance and two companies in life-insurance.
