Uzbekistan Installs Nearly 2 GW of Solar Panels Across 141,000 Sites
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — As of 1 December 2025, solar panels with a total capacity of 1,971 MW have been installed at 141,221 sites across Uzbekistan, according to the Ministry of Energy.
Of this capacity, 412.5 MW is installed at 21,346 social sector facilities, 1,087.5 MW at 32,589 business entities, 443.2 MW at 84,964 residential plots, and 30.2 MW at 2,322 apartment buildings.
Over the first eleven months of 2025, these solar installations generated 1.869 billion kWh of electricity. This helped save 566 million cubic meters of natural gas and prevented 466,000 tonnes of harmful emissions from being released into the atmosphere.
The large-scale deployment of solar power plants underscores Uzbekistan’s active progress in renewable energy and its transition toward a more environmentally sustainable energy model.
