Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – On 11 May 2022, a meeting was held between the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Furkat Sidikov and the First Deputy Minister of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of India B. Subramanyam in Delhi.
During the meeting, topical issues of bilateral trade, economic and investment cooperation were considered.
An exchange of views took place on the possibilities for further development of cooperation in such areas as pharmaceuticals, healthcare, ICT, processing, storage and packaging of agricultural products, incl. fruits and vegetables, modern textile clusters for the processing of cotton fiber, the production of branded textiles, export-oriented silk products, fabrics, shoes and other leather products.
An agreement was reached to study the structure of mutual trade in order to identify specific commodity items that are promising in terms of increasing mutual deliveries of products that are in demand in the markets of both countries.
The parties expressed their mutual readiness for interaction to remove existing trade barriers and create favorable conditions for enhancing bilateral trade.
