Uzbekistan increases production of localized goods by 36%

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan produced localized goods for 5.3 trillion soums in the first half of 2013, which grew by 36.1% year-on-year, the publication of the Ministry of Economy and State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan said.

The publication said that within the localization programme, the goods for 5.3 trillion soums were produced within 1,056 projects in the first six months of 2014. The growth rate made up 36.1% year-on-year.

The estimated effect of import replacement grew by 19.4% and made up over US$2.5 billion, the publication said.

The country launched production of over 61 new types of localized products in the first six months of 2013, including pumps, synthetic complex threads, air, oil and fuel filters, children toys, toothpaste, etc.

Uzbekistan exported localized goods for US$404.2 million in January-June 2013. Uzbekistan started to export 25 new products, which are produced within the localization programme.
