Uzbekistan increases industrial output to 266 trillion soums

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - According to preliminary data, in January-October 2019, enterprises of Uzbekistan produced 266.0 trillion soums of industrial products, the index of physical volume of industrial production compared to the same period of last year made up 6.8%.

The main factor in the growth of the physical volume of industrial production was an increase in mining and quarrying by 2.0%, manufacturing - by 8.7%, electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning - by 0.4%, water supply, sewage, waste collection and disposal - 6.3%.

The volume of products produced by mining and quarrying enterprises in January-October 2019 made up 35.4 trillion soums, or 13.3% of the total industry.

Compared to the same period of last year, there is an increase in gravel by 45.2%, while there is a decrease in coal production by 8.5%, oil - by 6.4%, gas condensate - by 2.3%, crushed stone - by 12,7% and natural gas production - by 1.0%.

Manufacturing enterprises produced products worth 212.9 trillion soums in January-October 2019, or 80.1% of the total industry.

In the structure of the manufacturing industry, in comparison with the corresponding period of the previous year, the share of high-tech industries was 1.5% (1.7% for January-October 2018), the average - high-tech industries - 25.3% (26.6%), medium - low technology - 38.0% (33.2%) and low technology - 35.2% (38.5%).

In the volume of the manufacturing industry, the share of enterprises for the production, repair, assembly of machinery and equipment, the production of cars, trailers, semi-trailers and other finished products reached to 22.0% (the growth of the volume index in January-October 2018 increased by 23.5%), the share of the metallurgical industry - 22.6% (5.4%), enterprises for the production of textile, clothing and leather products - 16.0% (6.2%), for the production of food, beverages and tobacco - 16.0 % (7.3%), enterprises for the production of chemical products, rubber and plastic products - 9.7% (3.9%).

At the same time, in the manufacturing industry, in comparison with the corresponding period of the last year, the production of trucks increased by 1.3 times, Cars - by 1.4 times, automobile engines - by 1.4 times, buses - by 2.7 times, running wheels, their parts and accessories - 1.3 times, radiators, silencers and exhaust pipes, clutches, steering wheels, steering columns, crankcase steering gears and their parts - 1.4 times.

The overhaul of technological equipment allowed increasing the capacity utilization of chemical enterprises and exceeding the previous year’s production indicators for mineral fertilizers containing nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium (-2.8% compared to January-October 2018), ammonium sulfate (+8.3 %), potassium chloride (+ 7.1%), ammonium nitrate (+ 11.8%), urea (118.2%), paints and varnishes based on acrylic or vinyl polymers (+ 21.9%), caustic soda (+ 34.2%).

The volume of products produced by electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning enterprises amounted to 15.7 trillion. soums (5.9% of the total industry).

In this industry, the index of physical volume, compared with the corresponding period last year, increased by 0.4%.

The volume of products produced by enterprises of water supply, sewerage, waste collection and disposal amounted to 1.9 trillion soums (0.7% of the total industry).

Compared with the corresponding period of last year, there is an increase in recyclables containing aluminum by 1.6 times, recyclables containing copper -  by 2.6 times, services for emptying, cleaning and treating cesspools, sumps and septic tanks by 1.9 times, services for the treatment and distribution of water through pipelines - by 28.2%, services for the disposal, transportation of wastewater and their treatment - by 29.0%, services for the collection of non-hazardous waste - by 77.1%.

As a result of measures taken to expand the range and stimulate the production of finished products, consumer goods production amounted to 90.1 trillion soums and, compared with the corresponding period of 2018, increased by 15.7%, the share in the total industry reached to 33.9%.

Compared to the same period of 2018, in the structure of consumer goods production for January-October 2019, a decrease in the share of non-food products from 68.6% to 68.2% is noted.

In the structure of food production, the production of wine-vodka products and beer amounted to 9.6% (8.0% for January-October 2018).

During the reporting period, enterprises with foreign investment produced products for 80.9 trillion soums.

The share of products of enterprises with foreign investment in the total volume of production amounted to 30.4%.

In the total output of enterprises with foreign investment, their share in the mining industry and quarrying amounted to 26.8%, manufacturing - 73.1%.

In the structure of industrial production of the republic, the largest share falls on Tashkent region (16.6% of the republican volume of industry), Tashkent city (16.6%), Navoi (13.5%), Andijan (10.2%), Kashkadarya (6.2%) and Ferghana (6.1%) regions.

The consistent implementation of measures to increase the industrial potential of the regions contributed to a significant increase in the index of the physical volume of industrial production in Andijan (+ 19.5% versus January-October 2018), Khorezm (+ 11.5%), Tashkent (+ 7.0%), Namangan (+ 13.6%), Samarkand (+ 7.6%), Bukhara (+ 9.4%) and Ferghana (+ 6.5%) regions.

At the same time, there has been a significant increase in consumer goods production in Andijan (+ 33.7% versus January-October, 2018), Khorezm (+ 27.2%), Namangan (+ 12.3%), Syrdarya (+ 4.4%) ), Bukhara (+ 7.8%), Ferghana (+ 8.7%), Surkhandarya (+ 8.0%) regions and the Republic of Karakalpakstan (+ 8.6%).

Along with this, it should be noted that the largest share of consumer goods was produced in Andijan region (23.7% of the total consumer goods of the republic), Tashkent (21.8%), Tashkent (9.3%) and Samarkand (8.6%) regions.

An analysis of the differentiation of industrial output per capita showed an excess of the national average (7.94 million soums) in the Navoi region (36.39 million soums), Tashkent city (17.46 million soums), Tashkent (15.12 million soums) and Andijan (8.78 million soums) regions.

The production of consumer goods per capita in the reporting period in the republic made up 2.69 million soums, including in the city of Tashkent – 7.75 million soums, Andijan region – 6.92 million soums, Tashkent region – 2.86 million soums.

For the reporting period, small businesses produced products for 91.8 trillion soums. The proportion of small business products in total production amounted to 34.5%.

By regions, the largest share of small business was observed in Namangan (76.5% of the total industry of the region), Tashkent city (66.5%), Jizzakh (66.9%), Samarkand (54.5%), Surkhandarya (53.2%), Syrdarya (48.8%) and Ferghana (42.9%) regions.

The smallest share of small business was noted in Navoi (12.6%), Kashkadarya (23.1%), Andijan (23.0%) Tashkent (27.7%) regions, as well as in the Republic of Karakalpakstan (24.3 %).

Today, 69,500 industrial enterprises operate in the republic, of which 14,800 (21.3% of the total number of operating enterprises) are in Tashkent, 7,500 (10.9%) - to Ferghana and 7,400 (10.7%) - to Tashkent region.

In January-October 2019, 17,056 industrial enterprises were re-created in the republic, of which 52.2% are in Tashkent, Samarkand, Tashkent, Ferghana and Andijan regions.
