Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 13-16 December 2022, the annual "Festival of Science and Atom" will be held in Uzbekistan - a popular event format that is designed to tell young people about the latest achievements in the field of atomic science and technology, as well as to popularize engineering specialties among pupils and students.

Festivals of science and atom are held in many countries of the world where the nuclear industry and nuclear technologies are developing. In Uzbekistan, this Festival has been held since 2019 with the support of the Uzatom Agency and the Rosatom State Corporation. This year, the event will be held at three venues: in the Tashkent branch of NRNU MEPhI (TF NRNU MEPhI), at the Information Center for Nuclear Technologies (ICAT) and at school No. 10 in the village of Uchkulach, Farish district, Jizzakh region.

This year’s festival includes an extended educational and entertainment program, which is designed for three days of complete immersion in the world of the atom and technology.

The first day will be held at the TF NRNU MEPhI, where there will be excursions for high school students around the NRNU MEPhI campus. Schoolchildren will be able not only to see with their own eyes the conditions of study at the university, but also to go through a scientific quest, learn more about the profession of nuclear and power engineering physicists, who are trained on the basis of NRNU MEPhI. 

The second day of the festival invites schoolchildren to get closer to chemistry with the help of the “Smart Tashkent” science show, and in the afternoon there will be a scientific debate with the participation of energy students on the topic “High Power Reactors VS Small Modular Reactors”. 

The third day of the festival will be held on the basis of a comprehensive school in the Jizzakh region, where the educational and entertainment program will be conducted by ICAT volunteers, students of the TF NRNU.

The most active participants of the festival will receive special prizes.
