Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 30 January, a seminar was held on the "Performance-Based Financing for Local Governments Effectiveness and Urban Sustainability" (PforR) project and the "Participatory Budgeting" initiative.

The event was attended by senior urban development specialist at the World Bank, Mohamad Nada, urban financing expert Ibrahim Ali Hon, World Bank urban development consultant Lola Vico, as well as officials from the Department for Integrated Regional Development and the Department of State Budget Policy under the Ministry of Economy and Finance. Also present were deputy hokims responsible for financial and economic affairs and poverty reduction from Kungirot, Syrdarya, Kuva districts, and the city of Yangiyol.

The seminar focused on preparing project documentation, financing mechanisms, defining performance indicators, and achieving tangible results.

Additionally, participants discussed projects within the accelerated integrated development program, approved by Presidential Decree No. PF-223 dated December 20, 2024. The program outlines development initiatives for 15 districts and cities where the project will be implemented.

As a result of the seminar, participants agreed to further cooperation and the implementation of planned activities in compliance with legislative requirements.
