Uzbekistan Holds Talks with Schlumberger on Mining Sector Development and Digitalization of Geological Data

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Bobur Islamov, Minister of Mining and Geology of the Republic of Uzbekistan, together with the ministry’s leadership, met with a delegation from SLB (Schlumberger Limited) led by Sherif Shodi, President for the Asia-Pacific region.

During the discussions, both sides explored cooperation in the mining and geological sectors, focusing on the digitalization of geological data and the implementation of advanced technologies.

Particular attention was given to Schlumberger’s potential role in the transformation of JSC Uzbekgeofizika, as well as the company’s prospects for participation in the upcoming “GEOMIN 2026” international conference, scheduled for September 2026 in Tashkent.

The parties expressed interest in further expanding collaboration and implementing joint projects aimed at enhancing the efficiency of the industry and introducing innovative solutions in Uzbekistan’s mining and geological sectors.
