Uzbekistan holds joint military drills in Ferghana Valley

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- From 9 to 13 April, in Ferghana, Andijan and Namangan regions, under the leadership of the First Deputy Minister of Defense - Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Uzbekistan, Major-General Pavel Ergashev, a joint command and staff exercise will be held to clarify the procedure for implementation of joint actions by all components of the Armed Forces.

The exercise involves forces and facilities of the Ministries of Defense, Interior, Emergency Situations, the Border Troops and other units of the State Security Service, the National Guard, the State Customs Committee, local authorities and local governments.

Within the framework of the exercise, the command and control bodies and troops (forces) are brought to the highest levels of alert. In practice, the issues of entering units in the areas of combat training tasks have been worked out.

In the course of the exercise, all the ranges of the Eastern Military District are involved, where units of law enforcement agencies in practice carry out joint activities to counter modern security challenges and threats.
