Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - These days, the situation on the emerged traffic jam at the Daut-ata border customs post of the Customs Department of the Republic of Karakalpakstan is being widely discussed on social networks.

The Committee on Defense and Security of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan has studied this situation. It was revealed that the flow of vehicles moving in the direction of entry and exit through the Daut-Ata border customs post increased as a result of the following factors:

- due to the strengthening of quarantine measures in connection with the pandemic in Turkmenistan and the restriction of the movement of vehicles through the territory of Turkmenistan, vehicles move along the route Uzbekistan - Kazakhstan - Russia - Georgia - Turkey;

- as a result of a sharp drop in air temperature in winter, ice was formed on the road passing through the village of Irgiz, located in the Aktobe region of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and for carriers delivering goods to the southern regions of the Russian Federation, traffic through the Daut-Ata border customs post became convenient (due to the short distance and low travel costs);

- in accordance with the agreement signed between the Republic of Uzbekistan and Turkey, appropriate amenities and favorable conditions for vehicles have been created, the transportation of trucks for foreign trade supplies from Uzbekistan through the territory of Turkey has become more frequent.

Motor vehicles entering the territory of Uzbekistan undergo customs inspection at the customs post within the established time frame, which does not require additional time.

In turn, in order to eliminate traffic jams on the Kazakh-Uzbek state border, dialogue with the Kazakh side is held weekly at the level of the leadership of the State Customs Committee, daily at the level of the responsible departments, every two hours at the level of the customs post. The parties, helping each other, promptly solve the problems that have arisen.

The Senate Committee on Defense and Security took control of the issue of removing the traffic jam on the Kazakh-Uzbek state border.
