Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - Uzbekistan GTL company, which is part of the Uzbekneftegaz JSC structure, summed up the results of the first scholarship program for gifted students, studying in oil and gas departments.
As part of the training program for the GTL plant under construction, initiated by Uzbekneftegaz JSC, the company Uzbekistan GTL selects the best graduates of specialized educational institutions. The main goal of the program is to train qualified specialists for work at the unique synthetic liquid fuel plant under construction in Kashkadarya region.
The scholarship program for gifted oil and gas students, organized by Uzbekistan GTL, helped select the most talented students from specialized universities - future engineers for the plant.
Out of 849 people who applied to participate in the Program this year, 393 students from Tashkent and the regions of Uzbekistan passed the second stage - an interview. According to the results of the selection stages, the winners of the scholarship program will receive a scholarship on a monthly basis during one academic year in addition to the main one, they will be assisted in the production and pre-diploma practice, in addition, the scholarship holders will be included in the personnel reserve of the company for further employment at the GTL plant.
Documents for the scholarship program for students were accepted from 15 September to 15 October. This year, 849 applications were submitted for participation in the Program. 80 people were admitted to the final stage of the Program.
To conduct the competitive selection, professors and teachers of specialized universities were invited. Particular support in organizing and conducting the scholarship program was provided by the management of the branch of the Russian State University of Oil and Gas named after I.M. Gubkin in Tashkent, Karshi Engineering and Economics Institute and Bukhara Engineering and Technology Institute.
According to the members of the selection committee, the level of children who applied for participation in the program was very high. Students came prepared, especially in the fields of chemistry, physics and the oil and gas business, speak good foreign languages, interestingly talked about themselves, about the reasons for their chosen profession and about their plans for the future.
