Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Social networks and the Telegram messenger are circulating information that allegedly, as a result of an accident at the Uzbekistan GTL plant, there are dead and injured employees. This information is not true.

“In recent days, some social networks have been circulating messages about the activities of the Uzbekistan GTL plant, as well as fake photos taken from the Internet that have nothing to do with the plant,” Uzbekistan GTL notes.

Uzbekistan GTL officially announces the launch of synthetic oil production at the GTL plant and the final stage of preparation for the start of production of the main products.

The company noted that at present, the relevant documents are being drawn up to apply to the competent authorities on the fact of the dissemination of deliberately false information.

At the same time, Uzbekneftegaz notes that on 18 June at 20:30, in the process of preparing for the launch of the plant (installation No. 10) of the air separation of the GTL plant, in the connecting part (flange) of the control valve installed in the pipeline of the liquid oxygen storage system of the apparatus, there was a leak of high purity oxygen (99.99 percent), and at the same time, all necessary measures were taken to prevent possible accidents, the fire extinguishing of the GTL plant and the first ambulance service were put in a ready state.

“This is a natural situation, when the process of starting new installations, there is a leak. Therefore, at present, a full 24-hour work schedule is organized at the GTL plant, workers work on a shift basis, including shift engineers, responsible shift supervisors,” the company said in a statement.

The management of the plant has taken all safety measures to prevent possible situations.
