Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan GTL can operate at full capacity in summer, Chief engineer of the plant Odil Karimov told Sputnik.

“We plan to start producing oil products by mid-May, and reach full operational capacity within two to three months,” he said.

Now the plant employs about 850 specialists, but in the future it is planned to increase the staff to 1 thousand people. Most of them are engineering and technical personnel.

The chief engineer also added that the plant will process 3.6 billion cubic meters of gas per year and produce 1.5 million tons of oil products, including diesel and jet fuel.

Uzbekistan GTL was solemnly opened in December last year. The Russian Gazprombank, Roseximbank and EXIAR participated in the financing of the project.
