Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 15 February 2022, as part of the Energy Week of Uzbekistan at the World Expo 2020 (Dubai, UAE), representatives of Uzbekistan GTL held a business meeting with a delegation from ExxonMobil (USA).
ExxonMobil is one of the largest oil companies in the world, applying technological advances and innovations to meet the growing demand of the global energy market. The company has the largest manufacturing resources in the industry and is one of the world’s companies in the processing, production and marketing of petroleum products and petrochemicals.
The sides discussed the possibility of organizing the production of synthetic oils of the API classification (American Petroleum Institute) group III+, from synthetic oil produced at the GTL plant, which is a valuable raw material for petrochemistry. Today, synthetic oils have a significant superiority in performance over mineral oils, and therefore there is an annual increase in demand for them.
Representatives of ExxonMobil expressed their interest in a joint detailed study of the implementation of this project, further steps in this direction were determined, and promising areas of cooperation were considered.
Earlier, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, at the opening ceremony of the complex for the production of synthetic liquid fuel Uzbekistan GTL, instructed to create new satellite production facilities around the plant, within the framework of the unified petrochemical cluster being created. A promising project for organizing the production of synthetic oils on the basis of the Uzbekistan GTL plant was presented to the President of Uzbekistan during the opening ceremony.
According to preliminary data, on the basis of the GTL plant in Uzbekistan, there is a potential opportunity to organize the production of up to 100 thousand tons of synthetic oils, which in the future will allow creating a full-fledged production of high-quality motor oils in the republic.
