Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Another round of intergovernmental consultations on financial and technical cooperation between Uzbekistan and Germany was held on 13 November 2020 in the format of a video conference.
During the event, issues of joint implementation of projects in the field of sustainable economic development were discussed. It was noted that Uzbekistan is currently the only country in Central Asia, which retains the practice of implementing bilateral projects with the participation of technical assistance from Germany.
In his speech, First Deputy Minister of Employment and Labor Relations E. Mukhitdinov provided detailed information on the situation on the labor market in Uzbekistan and measures taken to increase employment. The effectiveness of measures taken taking into account the experience of Germany, in particular, in the field of subsidizing enterprises to pay workers and preserve jobs, was especially emphasized.
The implemented measures for vocational training of the unemployed were noted, as well as the existing experience in organizing the activities of vocational training institutions, in particular, the Ishga Markhamat monocenters, Vocational training centers and short-term vocational training courses, etc.
Cooperation was proposed in such areas as:
Improving the processes of providing services of the Employment Promotion Centers, providing for the introduction of German experience, in particular, individualized "custom" oriented programs;
Improving the system of vocational training and advanced training of the unemployed, especially socially vulnerable segments of the population (women and youth), the development of professional standards, as well as the acquisition of German equipment for vocational training;
Providing assistance by the German side in adapting Germany's experience in integrating migrants, in order to improve the programs for reintegration of returned labor migrants operating in Uzbekistan.
At the end of the negotiations, the German side confirmed its readiness to consider these initiatives, followed by the submission of proposals for the implementation of the agreements reached.
The event was also attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Federal Republic of Germany N. Kasimov, Deputy Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Sh.Vafaev, Deputy Minister of Health Sh. Sharakhmetov, Deputy Minister of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education M. Kholmukhammedov and other representatives of ministries and departments.
