Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 10 February 2022, Tanzila Narbayeva, Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, met with Tilo Klinner, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Republic of Uzbekistan.

During the meeting, issues of further development of Uzbek-German relations, proposals for intensifying inter-parliamentary contacts, building up bilateral trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian ties were discussed. 

The German Ambassador noted the importance of the fundamental reforms being carried out in Uzbekistan, their focus on achieving concrete results, reforming the legal sphere and strengthening civil society institutions, as well as creating a favorable investment climate, ensuring guarantees for the protection of the rights and legitimate interests of foreign investors and partners.

Noting the importance of inter-parliamentary cooperation, the parties confirmed their readiness for close interaction and exchange of experience, organizing regular visits of parliamentary delegations of various levels, as well as intensifying contacts through friendship groups and relevant committees of the parliaments of Uzbekistan and Germany.
