Uzbekistan Futsal Team Stages Comeback to Defeat Australia at AFC Futsal Asian Cup 2026

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Uzbekistan national futsal team secured its first victory at the 2026 AFC Futsal Asian Cup in Indonesia.

In the second match of Group C, Uzbekistan came from behind to defeat Australia 4:2, overcoming an early two-goal deficit. Australia initially took the lead with goals in the 8th and 9th minutes by Jaiden Jacob Harba, putting Uzbekistan 0:2 down.

Uzbekistan responded quickly: Anasxon Rakhmatov scored in the 9th minute, and Ikhtiyor Ropiev equalized just two minutes later. Ilkhom Hamroev then put Uzbekistan ahead with a goal in the 19th minute, followed by Muzaffar Akhadjanov’s strike to secure the 4:2 victory.

After two group matches, Uzbekistan has 4 points, while Australia remains without points. Uzbekistan will face Japan in their next Group C match on 1 February.
