Uzbekistan FM Discusses Middle East Situation with Diplomats
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 12 March, Uzbekistan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bahktiyor Saidov, held a meeting with the heads of diplomatic missions from the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Oman accredited to the country.
During the talks, the parties exchanged views on the current situation in the Middle East. Participants expressed concern over developments that could threaten regional security and emphasized the necessity of preventing further escalation.
It was noted that conflict resolution must occur solely through diplomatic channels and in accordance with international law.
Additionally, the meeting addressed prospects for further development of bilateral and multilateral cooperation between Uzbekistan and the Arab states of the Persian Gulf. Particular attention was given to expanding interaction within the “Central Asia – Gulf Cooperation Council” framework.
