Uzbekistan extends deadline for payment of overdue pensions

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- State programme on implementation of Development Strategy of New Uzbekistan for 2022-2026 in "Year of caring about people and quality education" has been approved by the presidential decree.

According to the State Programme, starting from 1 July 2023:

"measures to improve the quality of service for the population and entrepreneurs" will be defined in all state bodies and organisations;

The number of public services provided through public service centres will be increased to 300, and through the Single Portal of Interactive Public Services (my.gov.uz) to 570;

Government services will be provided in the area of migration and citizenship for persons in need of social protection (persons with disabilities, the seriously ill, the elderly and others) at their place of permanent residence or at the place of temporary stay, without charging an additional fee for the service;

provision of public services for the verification of electricity, gas and water meters in a proactive manner (at the initiative of the service organization, without waiting for the application of the citizen).

From 1 September 2023 all services connected with allocation of subsidies for population and businesses will be gradually transferred to the "Single Electronic Platform of Allocation of Subsidies for Population and Entrepreneurship".

As of 1 January 2024, the period of payment of pensions accrued to a pensioner but not received on time will be extended from 12 months to 24 months.

As of 1 April 2023, the disability will be established on the basis of interdepartmental electronic data exchange without participation of citizens with anatomical defects, obvious signs of disability, as well as with diseases and complications with a poor clinical prognosis.

According to the Programme, in 2023:

The annual volume of new housing construction on the Yangi Uzbekiston and 161 other massifs will be increased by a factor of 1.6 and brought to 90,000

The "My first home" programme for citizens without housing titles will be developed and piloted in Tashkent province through mortgages based on market principles.
