Uzbekistan expresses concern over nuclear tests in North Korea

“Uzbekistan is concerned about regular nuclear tests executed by the DPRK, which are a flagrant violation of UN Security Council resolutions and are contrary to the efforts of international community to establish peace and trust on the Korean Peninsula,” the statement said.

“As the initiator of creation a zone free of nuclear weapons in Central Asia, Uzbekistan resolutely in favor of strict compliance with the provisions of the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons,” the statement reads

Uzbekistan calls on Pyongyang to stop provocative actions leading to escalation of tensions, which is a direct threat to security in the region and the whole world, the statement added.
