Uzbekistan exports gold worth US$2.66 billion in 1Q

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In January-March 2024, Uzbekistan exported gold worth more than US$2.66 billion, according to the Statistics Agency of Uzbekistan.

Compared to the first quarter of 2023, the volume of precious metal exports increased by 15.3%.

The share of gold in total exports of Uzbekistan in January-March 2024 amounted to 41.7%, while in January-March 2023 it was 37.8%.

In general, in 2023, Uzbekistan sold gold worth US$8.1 billion, which is almost double the figures for 2022.
