Uzbekistan exports 320,000 tonnes of cotton to China in 2013

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan exported a record volume of cotton – 320,000 tonnes – to China in 2013, the chairperson of the board of the Chinese компании Xinjiang Yinlong International Agricultural Cooperation Co., Ltd V. Lyan said.

He said that the demand for cotton is growing and yarn is highly demanded in textile market. He said that Uzbekistan is a key partner of China in the market. Uzbekistan provides cotton for sustainable work of Chinese textile industry, he said.

He added that Uzbekistan exported the record party of cotton to China – 320,000 tonnes. He said that the volume can reach 400,000 tonnes in near future.

Pravda Vostoka reported that Uzbekistan currently processes 400,000 tonnes of cotton-fibre.

According to the forecast of the experts, internal processing of coton-fibre will reach 60% by 2016 in Uzbekistan.
