Uzbekistan expands international cooperation in the space sector at Dubai Airshow 2025
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Uzcosmos delegation participated in the Dubai Airshow 2025, held from 16 to 21 November in Dubai, the agency’s press service reported.
The event brings together leading participants from the aviation, space, and defense industries, serving as a platform for discussing scientific and technical projects and fostering international partnerships.
During the visit, Uzcosmos representatives held talks with Salem Buti Al Kubaisi, Director General of the UAE Space Agency. The parties discussed joint projects on satellite and component development, knowledge exchange, and the promotion of space diplomacy.
The delegation also toured the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre (MBRSC), familiarizing themselves with satellite design, remote sensing data processing, and the start-up ecosystem. As a result of the visit, the preparation of a cooperation agreement on scientific and technical projects was agreed upon.
Uzcosmos held meetings with U.S. companies VAST Space and Axiom Space, which specialize in commercial orbital stations, crewed missions, and astronaut training. Discussions focused on technology transfer, joint research, and personnel development.
Talks with the Japanese company Terra Drone addressed the creation of a joint venture to deploy agricultural drones for precision farming, aerial treatment, and crop monitoring.
Throughout the exhibition, Uzbekistan emphasized its ambition to integrate into the global space ecosystem, develop advanced technologies, and launch new joint projects, which are expected to strengthen the country’s scientific and technical capacity.
