Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, has signed a law amending the Labor Code of Uzbekistan.

According to the new regulation, Sundays will no longer be taken into account when calculating annual leave pay and when paying monetary compensation for unused leave upon dismissal.

Previously, the duration of unpaid leave could not exceed three months within a calendar year, starting from the date of the last unpaid leave. Under the new law, the duration of such leave cannot exceed three months within a 12-month period.

In addition, the average salary for employees under the pay systems will be calculated as 1/12 of all income in the form of wages earned by the employee over the 12 calendar months prior to the month in which the average salary is maintained.
