Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan evacuated 3,245 compatriots from the combat zone in Ukraine. This was reported by the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Yusup Kabuljanov.
According to him, on 4-5 March, 2022, 666 citizens of Uzbekistan were returned from Ukraine through the airport in Katowice (Poland), including 89 women, 59 children and 8 babies.
“In the period from 28 February to 5 March 2022, 14 flights took place and 3,245 compatriots were taken out of the combat zone. Several more flights are scheduled for 5 March,” he said.
Through the efforts of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Kiev, 20 compatriots who were on sanitary treatment in Truskavets were evacuated. The administration of Sumy region is working on the issue of organizing a "green corridor" for the evacuation of 25 Uzbek students studying in universities in the region.
The Embassy of Uzbekistan in Ukraine is in constant contact with compatriots. Diplomats are in various regions of Ukraine, including in the war zone, and carry out work on the evacuation of our citizens.
