Uzbekistan evacuated 3,685 citizens from Ukraine

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- From 28 February to 6 March, Uzbekistan evacuated 3,685 compatriots from the combat zone in Ukraine. This was reported by the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Yusup Kabuljanov.

“On 5-6 March 2022, 440 citizens of Uzbekistan were returned from Ukraine through the airport in Katowice (Poland), including 88 women, 59 children and 20 babies,” he said.

Yusup Kabuljanov noted that in the period from 28 February to 6 March this year, 16 flights took place and 3,685 compatriots were taken out of the combat zone.

Several more flights are scheduled for March 6, he added.

According to him, there are more than 850 fellow citizens on the territory of Poland, of which 50 people. placed in the accumulation zone of the state border of Poland, about 800 people. - at the Katowice airport.

The Embassy of Uzbekistan in Ukraine is in constant contact with compatriots. Diplomats are in various regions of Ukraine, including in the war zone, and are working to evacuate our citizens, Yusup Kabuljanov added.
