Uzbekistan establishes the honorary title of "Distinguished Ecologist of the Republic of Uzbekistan"
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has signed a law establishing the honorary title of "Distinguished Ecologist of the Republic of Uzbekistan."
According to the law, this title will be awarded to eco-activists who have made significant contributions to environmental protection, nature conservation, biodiversity preservation, climate change mitigation, and the sustainable use and restoration of natural resources.
It may also be granted to specialists and other professionals in the field who have demonstrated initiative in developing and implementing eco-friendly and innovative technologies, expanding green spaces, improving urban landscapes, enhancing public environmental awareness, fostering a culture of respect for nature among the younger generation, and training highly qualified personnel in the environmental sector.
Additionally, the title may be awarded to public activists engaged in environmental monitoring.
The law comes into effect upon its official publication.
