Uzbekistan Establishes New National Nature Parks

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan has signed a resolution on establishing the national nature parks “Ovjazsoy – Moviy Toglar,” “Piskom,” and “Fargona,” as well as expanding the territory of the Pop National Nature Park.

In Tashkent Region, the Ovjazsoy – Moviy Toglar park will cover 9,200 hectares within the state forest management area of Akhangaran District, while the Piskom park will be established on 156,700 hectares in the Burchmulla area of Bostanlyk District.

In Fergana Region, the Fargona National Nature Park will encompass 22,900 hectares, including 13,900 hectares of state reservation lands in the Uzbek and Soh districts, and 8,900 hectares of Fergana and Kokand state forest management lands.

In Namangan Region, the Pop National Nature Park will expand to 125,300 hectares, incorporating 33,600 hectares of state reservation lands in Mingbulok and Pop, and 91,200 hectares of the specialized state forest management area of Pop.

These measures aim to preserve unique natural ecosystems, support biodiversity, and develop eco-tourism across Uzbekistan.
