Uzbekistan establishes diplomatic relations with the Cooperative Republic of Guyana

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 10 October 2022, a Joint Communique on the establishment of diplomatic relations between Uzbekistan and the Cooperative Republic of Guyana was signed in New York. The Cooperative Republic of Guyana became the 142nd country with which Uzbekistan established diplomatic relations.

On behalf of the government of the two countries, the document was signed by Permanent Representative of Uzbekistan to the UN Bakhtiyor Ibragimov and Permanent Representative of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana to the UN Caroline Rodriguez Birket.

The parties confirmed their interest in strengthening joint cooperation within the framework of international organizations, including the UN and its specialized agencies. An agreement was reached to maintain bilateral contacts to search for mutually beneficial areas of cooperation.

The signing of the document was an important step to enhance the interaction of Uzbekistan with the countries of South America.
