Uzbekistan Discusses Supplying Industrial Products to the European Market with Praktiker

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Diplomatic representatives of Uzbekistan held negotiations in Budapest with representatives of Praktiker, Andrea Kormosh and Tamara Vash, according to Dunyo.

The meeting focused on the potential supply of Uzbek construction and home-improvement products to the Praktiker retail chain.

Participants discussed certification requirements and compliance with European standards, conditions for admitting new suppliers, potential purchase volumes, as well as packaging, labeling, and logistics issues.

Praktiker representatives expressed interest in expanding their assortment through imports of sanitary ceramic products and bathroom equipment, ceramic tiles, flooring, garden products, doors and door hardware, furniture fittings, household repair tools, wallpaper, lighting equipment, and cable and wiring products.

Uzbek diplomats highlighted the competitive advantages of the country’s industrial sector, including access to relatively low-cost energy resources, a skilled workforce, and a developed industrial base, which make Uzbek products attractive for the European market.

It was noted that placing Uzbek products on the shelves of a major Hungarian retail chain would create opportunities to scale supplies to other countries where European DIY operators are present, opening additional prospects for systematically promoting Uzbek industrial products across the EU market.

Following the negotiations, the parties agreed to continue preparing supplies with the involvement of the Uzbek Embassy and to regularly update Praktiker on the progress.
