Uzbekistan Discusses Modernization of Wastewater Treatment Systems with International Companies
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 20 January, Ilhomjon Umrzakov, Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance of Uzbekistan, held a working meeting with representatives of TAQA Water Solutions, SUEZ, and ITOCHU.
The foreign delegations were represented by Ahmad Al Shamsi, Chairman of TAQA Water Solutions; Silver Delon, Senior Vice President and CEO of SUEZ for Central Asia and the Caucasus; Ryuji Yamoto, Head of ITOCHU’s Tashkent office; as well as other company representatives.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the modernization and development of wastewater treatment systems. Special attention was given to compliance with modern treatment standards, technical approaches to the placement and operation of treatment facilities, and management of engineering infrastructure within densely populated urban areas.
The discussions also covered the possibility of situating large treatment facilities outside heavily populated zones and developing trunk sewer infrastructure using advanced technologies.
It was emphasized that the implementation of modern solutions will enhance the efficiency of wastewater systems, reduce negative environmental impacts, and create conditions for sustainable regional development.
Following the discussions, the participants agreed to further expand mutually beneficial cooperation in the management of water resources and engineering infrastructure.
