Uzbekistan Discusses Issuance of Islamic Securities with Pakistan’s Meezan Bank and Kuwait’s Noor Financial
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A working meeting was held at the National Agency for Prospective Projects with representatives of Pakistan’s leading Islamic bank, Meezan Bank, and the major Kuwaiti investment company, Noor Financial Investment Company.
Meezan Bank, the largest Islamic bank in Pakistan headquartered in Karachi, offers a full range of banking services in compliance with Shariah principles, including retail and corporate banking, lending, and deposit services.
Noor Financial Investment Company is a strategic investor and shareholder of Meezan Bank, operating in financial services and asset management across the Middle East, Asia, and other regions.
During the meeting, participants discussed the prospects for issuing and implementing Islamic securities (sukuk) under the framework of the new draft Law “On the Capital Market.”
Following the discussions, the parties agreed to continue their cooperation and further develop their partnership, including exchanging expertise on the issuance and placement of Islamic financial instruments.
