Uzbekistan Discusses Export Potential Development with Sir Chakrabarti
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 24 October, Deputy Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade Khurram Teshabayev held a meeting with Sir Suma Chakrabarti, Adviser to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Economic Development, Effective Governance, and International Cooperation.
The meeting focused on key areas for enhancing the country’s export potential, including improving the competitiveness of domestic products, expanding foreign trade geography, and refining the system of exporter support. Special attention was given to strengthening the presence of Uzbek goods in foreign markets, developing logistics infrastructure, and boosting cooperation with Uzbekistan’s embassies to promote national products and establish business links with foreign companies.
Non-financial support measures — such as consulting services, participation in international exhibitions, certification, and marketing promotion — were highlighted as particularly important amid Uzbekistan’s preparations for accession to the World Trade Organization.
Sir Suma Chakrabarti praised the progress of the country’s reforms and emphasized the importance of promoting value-added products. Both sides reaffirmed their readiness to continue cooperation in developing export infrastructure and coordinating efforts with foreign trade advisers.
