Uzbekistan discusses cooperation with GIZ in social protection
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Deputy Director of the National Agency for Social Protection under the President of Uzbekistan, Jamshid Abroev, held a meeting with representatives of the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ).
The discussion focused on the results of GIZ’s assessment mission in Uzbekistan and the prospects for implementing a new project, Support for Social Protection and Inclusion of Vulnerable Populations.
The launch of this initiative marks an important step toward improving the quality, efficiency, and accessibility of social protection services, particularly for women and persons with disabilities.
Key areas of cooperation discussed during the meeting included enhancing targeted social assistance mechanisms, developing social services for vulnerable groups, and integrating digital solutions into social protection. Notably, the parties explored the application of artificial intelligence technologies to automate services and the need to enhance the qualifications of social workers.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to supporting the successful implementation of the project. They expressed confidence that the initiative would strengthen Uzbek-German cooperation and contribute to the development of a more effective and inclusive social protection system tailored to the real needs of the population.
