Uzbekistan discusses amendments to law “On joint stock companies and protection of rights of shareholders”

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Discussions of the draft law “On introduction of changes and amendments to the law “On joint stock companies and protection of rights of shareholders” and law “On introduction of changes and amendments to several legislative acts of Uzbekistan in connection with adoption of the law “On introduction of changes and amendments to the law “On joint stock companies and protection of rights of shareholders” is taking place across Uzbekistan.

The discussions, held with participation of state bodies, joint stock companies, experts and others, are directed at improving the documents.

It was noted that the draft laws are directed at further developing corporare management in Uzbekistan through concretization of the legislative framework, increasing role and importance of shareholders, protection of minor shareholders, etc.

It was underlined that joint stock companies have more opportunities to attract investments compared to small businesses or limited liability companies. It was said that there are closed joint stock companies, which issue shares, but circulated among limited number of shareholders.

The recommendations and proposals, received at the discussions, will be included to the laws for further their improvement.
