Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A meeting of the Parliamentary Commission of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis on the implementation of reforms in the field of health promotion was held.
It discussed the work carried out on the high-quality organization of preventive vaccination measures against coronavirus, further improving the efficiency of the sanitary and epidemiological service.
It was noted that under the current conditions, under the leadership of the President of the country, all measures are being taken to protect the health of the people and prevent infection with coronavirus.
Vaccination of the population from COVID-19 in our country began on 1 April 2021 and is carried out gradually, systematically. In this regard, close cooperation has been established with the World Health Organization and a number of other international organizations. Currently in the Republic, vaccinations are consistently carried out by 3,138 vaccination points and 862 mobile teams.
It was stated at the meeting that a total of 28,487,988 doses of vaccine against coronavirus infection have been delivered and distributed to our country so far.
Information from the heads of the Sanitary and Epidemiological Welfare and Public Health Service was heard.
According to them, the number of vaccinating persons over 18 years old in the country is 21,455,214 people. To date, this contingent has received a total of 22,956,058 doses (1st dose - 12,414,142, 2nd dose - 7,244,022 and 3rd dose - 3,297,894). Of these, 81.5 percent of the ZF-UZ-VAC 2001 vaccine was used, 78.5 percent - AstraZeneca, 62.4 percent - Sputnik V, 92.7 percent - Moderna and 36.6 percent - Pfizer.
As emphasized at the event, today the issues of further improving the quality of the sanitary and epidemiological service provided to the population, strengthening its material and technical base, and training qualified personnel for this area are of priority importance.
At the same time, during the meeting, it was noted that along with the positive work carried out in this direction, it is necessary to intensify explanatory and advocacy work to provide the general public with scientifically based information about the vaccines used against coronavirus in our country and the level of their protection.
It was emphasized that explaining the positive effect of vaccination against coronavirus for the general population, bringing to the public full information about cases (criteria) that prevent vaccination is an immediate task.
The members of the Parliamentary Commission paid special attention to the issue of the prevalence of diseases in recent days among children, including schoolchildren. The importance of taking the necessary measures to ensure sanitary and epidemiological peace in educational institutions was noted.
At the meeting, the commission criticized the fact that vaccination measures against coronavirus were not effectively organized in all places, that all segments of the population requiring vaccination were not involved in this process. The need to carry out further explanatory work, to increase the responsibility of employers was noted.
As the chairman of the Committee on Budget and Economic Reforms Sh. Nazarov emphasizes, in accordance with the action plan approved by the commission, the deputies of the Legislative Chamber systematically control the provision of financial resources and the targeted use of reforms to improve the health of the population.
In particular, in order to systematically continue efforts to combat the coronavirus pandemic, joint work was carried out with the Ministry of Finance to generate 3 trillion soums of reserves in the State Budget for 2021. Currently, these 3 trillion soums have been fully utilized.
In addition, parliamentary control is exercised over the timely provision and targeted use of an additional 1.3 trillion soums. Today, 800 billion soums of the allocated funds have been disbursed. The formation, timely provision and targeted use of these funds are regularly discussed at the meetings of the Committee on Budget and Economic Reforms.
The meeting identified measures to strengthen effective parliamentary and public control over timely and high-quality vaccination of the population against coronavirus.
