Uzbekistan Delegation Participates in WADA World Conference in South Korea

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A delegation from Uzbekistan, led by Minister of Sports Adkham Ikramov, is participating in the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) World Conference currently underway in Busan, South Korea.

The national delegation also includes Abdushukur Sodikov, Director of the National Anti-Doping Agency of Uzbekistan.

The conference focuses on the updated World Anti-Doping Code, scheduled to come into effect in 2027. The new code introduces reforms aimed at increasing transparency and efficiency in the global anti-doping system, while strengthening athlete rights protections.

During the event, the Uzbek delegation held bilateral meetings with leaders of international sports organizations, including IOC President Kirsty Coventry, WADA President Witold Banka, and IOC Honorary President Thomas Bach. Discussions focused on further cooperation and strengthening anti-doping mechanisms.

Special attention was given to preparations for the annual meeting of the Regional Anti-Doping Organization (RADOCA), which Uzbekistan will host on January 26–27, 2026, including organizational aspects and key topics for the event.
