Uzbekistan Defeats Sri Lanka 4–0 in AFC U-23 Asian Cup Qualifiers

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Uzbekistan national team began its campaign in the qualifying round of the AFC U-23 Asian Cup with a convincing victory.

Group E matches, featuring Uzbekistan, are being held in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.

In their opening match, Uzbekistan thrashed their peers from Sri Lanka 4–0.

Umarali Rakhmonaliev opened the scoring in the 38th minute, and just two minutes later Rustam Turdimurodov doubled the lead. Turdimurodov scored again in the 52nd minute to make it 3–0, while Sardorbek Bakhramov netted the fourth goal in the 70th minute.

Uzbekistan will play its next matches on 6 September against Kyrgyzstan and on 9 September against Palestine.
