Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan declared 2021 as the “Year of Supporting Youth and Protecting the Health of the Population”. This was announced today during the message of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the Parliament of Uzbekistan.

The President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev proposed to declare the next year the Year of Supporting Youth and Protecting Public Health. Those present supported the proposal of the head of state with thunderous applause.

The head of Uzbekistan noted that it is very difficult to give a name to the year. But the current situation has shown that local kengashs on the ground, local leaders need to pay attention to the youth.

“If today we do not continue the work to improve the health of the population, started during the pandemic, if we do not resolve these issues today, it will be too late tomorrow. We, our people, suffered greatly from these shortcomings during the pandemic, especially in the villages. We did not panic, but suffered,” the President noted.

Uzbekistan declared 2020 as the “Year of the Development of Science, Education and the Digital Economy”.
