Uzbekistan Customs Seizes 6.3 kg of Marijuana
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Customs officers at the “Tashkent International Airport” border post of the “Toshkent-Aero” specialized complex have prevented an attempt to illegally import narcotic substances, the State Customs Committee reported.
During inspection of the hand luggage and checked baggage of a foreign passenger arriving on a flight from Bangkok, officers discovered 12 polyethylene packages concealed inside various containers among personal belongings.
In the presence of witnesses, the contents of the packages were opened. According to the conclusion of the Central Customs Laboratory, the substance inside was a green-colored material with a characteristic strong odor, identified as dried marijuana.
The total weight of the seized narcotics amounted to approximately 6.3 kilograms.
A criminal case has been initiated in connection with the incident, and investigative actions are currently ongoing.
