Uzbekistan Customs Committee and EXBS Program representatives discuss cooperation plans
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A meeting was held at the Uzbekistan Customs Committee with David Eckhard, Advisor of the Export Control and Border Security (EXBS) Program for Uzbekistan and Tajikistan, and the national coordinator of the program, Irina Kochetkova.
The meeting participants reviewed the activities carried out in 2024 under the EXBS program and discussed plans for the upcoming year.
In particular, in April 2024, the Customs Committee received 50 sets of ST-40 inspection equipment, intended for border customs posts. To ensure their effective use, theoretical and practical training courses were organized for 25 customs officers.
The parties also agreed on further cooperation, including the transfer of mobile scanners, participation of Uzbek customs officers in international regional seminars, and the organization of practical courses on controlling air cargo and customs inspection in the field of aviation security. Additionally, the possibility of organizing specialized training courses for customs officers was discussed.
At the end of the visit, EXBS program representatives were given a detailed overview of the activities of the Targeting Center of the Customs Committee.
