The Government of Uzbekistan issued a resolution “On measures on further improving holding of tender trades” on 14 September.
The resolution was adopted in order to further improve efficiency and rational use of resources within the investment projects, realized in corresponding sectors of economy and social sphere, speed up realization of projects, as well as improve system of organization and holding of tender trades on selection of goods, work and service suppliers.
The chairperson and members of the commission are personally responsible for efficient organization and holding tenders, including international ones, the resolution said.
According to the resolution, the tender commissions organize and hold tenders on collegial bases and determine winners on the result of trades on purchase of goods, works and services within the investment projects, realized in corresponding sectors of economy and social sphere, for sum of over US$5 million on one contract.
The tenders for the sum less than US$5 million on one contract will be held by tender commissions, created by the customer in line with the legislation of Uzbekistan, the document said.
Earlier started and consisting of several stages, but not completed, tenders will be carried out in line with the tender commissions, created before adoption of the resolution.
Seven inter-departmental tender commissions were created in line with the resolution and almost all of them are headed by the Deputy Prime Ministers.
Inter-departmental tender commission on purchase of goods, works and services within the investment projects, realized in sphere of geology, fuel-energy complex, chemistry, petrochemical and metallurgy industry was created. Deputy Prime Minister Gulomjon Ibragimov is heading the commission.
He also heads the Inter-departmental tender commission on purchase of goods, works and services within the investment projects, realized in sphere of agriculture, processing agriculture products and consumer goods.
Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Ulugbek Rozuqulov heads Inter-departmental tender commission on purchase of goods, works and services within the investment projects, realized in sphere of machinery, automobile and electrotechnical industry, as well as standardization.
Head of Inter-departmental tender commission on purchase of goods, works and services within the investment projects, realized in sphere of communal sphere, transport, capital repair and construction industry will be Deputy Prime Minister Batir Zakirov.
Vice Premier Adham Ikramov is appointed as the head of Inter-departmental tender commission on purchase of goods, works and services within the investment projects, realized in sphere of healthcare, ecology and environment.
Uzbek Deputy Prime Minister Bakhodir Hodiev heads the Inter-departmental tender commission on purchase of goods, works and services within the investment projects, realized in sphere of education, culture and sport.
Minister for development of information technologies and communication of Uzbekistan Hurshid Mirzahidov heads Inter-departmental tender commission on purchase of goods, works and services within the investment projects, realized in sphere of development of information technologies and telecommunications.
