Uzbekistan Coordinates Citizen Evacuation from Iran via Turkmenistan Transit Corridor

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan has initiated an emergency transit operation to assist citizens traveling from Iran back to Uzbekistan, according to the Dunyo Information Agency.

The move comes amid heightened security concerns in the region, prompting the government to establish a secured overland corridor.

The Uzbek Embassy in Ashgabat is working in close coordination with the leadership of the Turkmen Ministry of Foreign Affairs and relevant law enforcement agencies. This diplomatic effort is being synchronized with the Uzbek Embassy in Tehran to ensure a seamless handoff of personnel at the border.

Diplomatic staff have been deployed to the Turkmenistan-Iran border at the Sarakhs crossing point to meet arriving citizens. To facilitate the final leg of the journey, the Embassy in Ashgabat has mobilized a fleet of vehicles to provide organized and secure transport across Turkmen territory toward the Uzbek border.

The Ministry has designated specific coordinators to manage the influx and provide real-time instructions to those in transit. Citizens requiring assistance or logistical guidance should contact Jasur Ashurov at +993 64 78-04-44, Jamshid Buriev at +993 64 99-34-58, or Consul Jamshid Ahmedov at +993 62 20-49-56.

Authorities strongly advise all nationals currently in Iran or near the border regions to establish contact with these officials before attempting the crossing to receive the latest safety protocols and transit instructions.
