Uzbekistan Continues Safe Return of Citizens from Middle East
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan’s diplomatic missions in Middle Eastern countries, together with relevant agencies, continue systematic efforts to ensure the safety and repatriation of Uzbek citizens, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported.
As of 07:00 on 13 March, a total of 32,934 citizens have returned to Uzbekistan.
On 12 March, the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Qatar facilitated the transfer of 49 citizens to the UAE and Saudi Arabia for subsequent flights to Tashkent. A new group is currently being organized, with arrangements underway for travel from Doha via Dubai.
Uzbek diplomatic missions in the UAE assisted in the departure of 147 citizens to Tashkent. The Embassy in Iran arranged the exit of five nationals through neighboring countries, while in Israel, four citizens were repatriated via Egypt.
The Embassy in Saudi Arabia and the General Consulate in Jeddah, together with the Ministry of Transport, arranged the return of 2,735 citizens on charter flights, completing evacuation efforts in that country.
