Uzbekistan confirms commitment to the Bogota call for protecting children from violence
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan has officially confirmed its commitment to the international initiative, the Bogota Call, aimed at eradicating all forms of violence against children. This was announced during a roundtable discussion on the topic "Ending Violence Against Children: Global Initiatives and Uzbekistan’s Perspectives," organized in collaboration with the National Social Protection Agency and UNICEF.
The event was attended by representatives from relevant government bodies and organizations, including Asadjon Khodjaev, Director of the Agency for Information and Mass Communications. Participants discussed the steps Uzbekistan is taking to protect children's rights and the implementation of the new Law "On Protecting Children from All Forms of Violence."
Special attention was given to the establishment of emergency response services, the development of comprehensive support programs, and the improvement of national legislation. Discussions also focused on measures to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030, particularly in the area of child protection.
The Bogota Call is a global initiative that has already been joined by more than 100 countries. The document provides a clear roadmap for action, including ensuring children's rights and well-being, strengthening legal mechanisms, creating effective protection systems, addressing digital risks, and fostering cooperation between key entities.
By committing to the Bogota Call, Uzbekistan has taken an important step in strengthening the child protection system and demonstrated its readiness to actively participate in international efforts to ensure the safety and well-being of every child.
