Uzbekistan commissions 8.4m square meters of habitation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan used investment 1.2 trillion soums within the programme on construction of individual habitation on standard projects in rural areas in January-September 2013 and launched 5,500 houses, a publication of Ministry of Economy and State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan, published in local media, said.

Overall, the country launched 8.4 million square meters of habitation (+15.1% y-o-y), of which 6.3 million square meters were commissioned in rural areas (+15.4%).

Uzbekistan implemented seven projects with international financial institutions to improve access of population to drinking water, within which investments for US$74.3 million were utilized.

In the result, over 2,000 km of water networks (+14.6%), including 1,900 km in rural areas (+18.5%), have been commissioned.
