Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Uzbekistan national team maintained its momentum on the third day of the Tashkent Judo Grand Slam, securing two silver medals and one bronze in front of a home crowd.

Ernazar Sarsenbaev earned silver in the men’s under 100kg division. Sarsenbaev delivered a dominant performance throughout the preliminary rounds to reach the final, where he ultimately fell to his Bahraini opponent, finishing the tournament as runner-up.

In the women’s heavyweight division, Umida Nigmatova added to the host nation’s tally in the over 78kg category. Nigmatova secured the bronze medal after defeating her Ukrainian opponent in the third-place play-off.

The final action of the day featured Alisher Yusupov competing for gold in the men’s over 100kg category. In a tightly contested final against an Azerbaijani judoka, the match pushed into golden score. Despite a spirited effort, the deciding point went to his opponent, leaving Yusupov with the silver medal. His performance further cemented his status as a key figure for the Uzbek squad during this prestigious home-soil event.
